We also use the outdoor gas grill which works well for meal-size batches of peppers. The electric range broiler is fine, if you keep an eye on the peppers and blister the skin uniformly without burning.

Brilliant!!! And all this time I felt like a step child because I have to broil my peppers to char them as I have an electric stove...but I do have my little burner that came with my Creme Brulee kit!! Thank you for bringing the obvious to my attention...Lisa (Comfortcook)
